Former Golden Sands hotel in Miami Beach to foreclosure auction - South Florida Business Journal: "The site where WSG Development Co. hoped to build the Golden Sands Canyon Ranch hotel in Miami Beach is headed to auction over a $36.3 million foreclosure judgment. An affiliate of Lehman Brothers won the judgment against WSG 34th Street over a $26 million mortgage, plus interest and fees. The 0.92-acre site at 6901 Collins Ave. – next door to the Canyon Ranch Hotel & Spa – is set for online auction June 17."

The Royal Polo Hotel, 2940 Collins Ave., is being marketed for sale by brokerage firm Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels. According to the firm, the seven-story hotel is approved by the planning department in Miami Beach for 96 rooms, a restaurant and a lounge. It has been closed for several years."
